Artist Name: Jose Conde
Genre: Afro-Cuban
Country: United States

Artist Bio:

Called "an extraordinary talent with overwhelming energy" by the Miami Herald in March, 2004, the U.S.-born Jose Conde's performances have created a reputation for him as an exciting singer with a sweet voice as well as a gifted songwriter.

Performing frequently in New York since 2000, he has also had well received shows in Miami and at the 2002 Labor Day Festival in Aspen, where, alongside legendary artists Bob Dylan, Anjelque Kidjo, Willie Nelson and Macy Gray, the largely unknown Jose Conde y Ola Fresca were proclaimed "the weekend's biggest surprise."

His music has been heard across the U.S. in the PBS documentary "90 Miles" and also in the recent off-Broadway play by Eduardo Machado, "The Cook." —Courtesy Calabash Music
